PURPOSE:To uniform furthermore development and to obtain an excellent developing effect by intermittently impressing an electric field component for oscillating the magnetic grains of a mixed developer under the restriction of a magnetic field and contacting them with a photosensitive drum to a developing area. CONSTITUTION:The developer 4 is stirred in a C direction by the rotation of a developer carrier in an A direction and toner T in the developer 4 is charged by friction with the magnetic grains M or the carrier 2. When a mixed developer layer carried by the carrier 2 is reached to the position of a doctor blase 10, excess quantity of a fixed value is removed by magnetic force applied between the doctor blade 10 and a magnet roll 3 and the mixed developer layer with uniform thickness appropriate for development is carried up to a developing area. The grains M in the developer layer in the developing area are oscillated between the drum 1 and the carrier 2 while being restricted by the line of magnetic force connecting magnetic poles N1, S1 and intermittently and softly contacted with the surface of the drum 1. |
