PURPOSE:To provide a viscous air filter of low pressure loss, high efficiency and high dust retaining capacity, of long life and low cost, by fixing a deliquescent substance on the surface of structured fiber of a bulky fiber aggregate constituted of water-soluble fibers. CONSTITUTION:A bulky fiber aggregate is formed by a web-forming machine, by using, for example, mixed fibers of water-soluble polyvinyl fibers of different thickness as water-soluble fibers, and by spraying a bonding agent such as epoxy xylol solution or the like thereon to form up a bulky non-woven cloth. On the bonded bulky cloth, a deliquescent substance such as calcium chloride or the like with adhesive of xylol solution and the like added is sprayed, dried and fixed. Thus, the cross and contact section of water-soluble fibers 1 is bonded beforehand with globules of a synthetic resin bonding agent 2, and a viscous air filter, the surface of which is coated with a resin contacting agent 3 containing deliquescent substance, is prepared. |
