PURPOSE:To stably form a good quality image without deteriorating good electrophotographic characteristics by forming an undercoat layer containing a specified butyl-etherified melamine-formaldehyde resin and a cured film containing a specified acid compound or anhydride as a component. CONSTITUTION:The undercoat layer of a photosensitive body obtained by laminating the undercoat layer, an electric charge generating layer, and a charge transfer layer on a conductive substrate contains the butyl-etherified melamine- formaldehyde resin having an number average molecular weight of <=1,500 and a combined foraldehyde number of 2-4 and a methylol number of 1-2 per one melamine ring, and the cured film containing an electron donative carboxylic compound and/or such a polycarboxylic anhydride as components, thus permitting chargeability and adhesiveness to be enhanced without deteriorating good electrophotographic characteristics and deterioration of characteristics at the time of repeated uses and consequently, a good-quality image to be stably formed for a long period. |
