摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate the occurrence of scumming and to enhance water resistance, plate wear, lithographic properties, and shelf stability, by a method wherein an image receiving layer makes use of a specific metallic compound as a water-resisting agent and further contains a pigment consisting of zinc oxide, silica, and kaolinite. CONSTITUTION:A zinc oxide having a function of eliminating the scumming occurring in the plate making process due to a chemical action is specified to be used by 30-80 wt% to the total amount of a pigment. In the pigment using silica and kaolinite together with zinc oxide, a silica/kaolinite weight ratio is specified to be 7/3-1/9. The silica synthesized by a gel method (wet method) with an average particle diameter of 10 mum or less and a physical value of 100 ml/100g or more oil absorption capacity is preferably used. The use of a metallic compound of aluminum, titanium, and zirconium series in an image receiving layer together with the pigment can impart a remarkably high water resistance. As the metallic compound, for example, di-isopropoxy-bis(acetylacetone titanate), aluminum isopropylate, zirconium trilactate, and the like are used.
