PURPOSE:To discharge drain water generated at the time of space cooling operation and water generated in a defrosting cycle at the time of space heating operation outdoors in the form of fog by installing a detecting means discovering the level of water recovered with a water pan, an atomizer atomizing this water, and an outdoor air blower. CONSTITUTION:Dew condensed on the fin surfaces of an indoor heat exchanger 3 at the time of space cooling operation is collected in an indoor water pan 8 and gradually recovered to a water pan 4. Recovered water 13 is sensed with a sensing means 16: when a water level reaches the possible-to-atomize level of an atomizer 5, a contact 21 for the water level height is closed to supply current to a controller 26 and the water 13 is atomized in the form of fog by the operation of the atomizer 5. The water 13 formed into fog mixes with air sucked from the outdoors under the normal direction flow of air caused by an outdoor air blower 12 passes through an outdoor heat exchanger 11, and is discharged outdoors without stagnation. When the defrosting operation of the exchanger 11 is started at the time of space heating operation, frost is melted to be stored in the pan 4 below the exchanger 11. The water 13 is atomized and discharged outdoors just in the same way as in the space cooling operation.
