PURPOSE:To improve the control accuracy of the minimum temperature of a glow plug by allowing a control means to compute the OFF time of a switching means on the basis of its ON time and to turn off the switching means only for the OFF time. CONSTITUTION:The switching means A turn on/off a power feeding line between a battery 1 and the glow plug 2 and the temperature of the plug 2 is detected by a temperature detecting means B. A control means C turns on the means during the period that the temperature value of the plug 2 detected by the means B is less than a prescribed upper limit temperature value and calculates the ON time. When the detected temperature value reaches the prescribed upper limit temperature value, the control means C computes the OFF time on the basis of the counted ON time and turns off the means A only for the calculated OFF time. Consequently, the control accuracy of the minimum temperature of the plug 2 can be improved.
