PURPOSE:To automate positioning from a slave station to a master station by providing a means which counts back a bit delay quantity value with which correct transmission to a position where the slave station should originally sends a signal sequence is enabled from the correlation between a specified bit delay quantity control value and a burst position where an error occurs in the signal sequence from each slave station to the master station. CONSTITUTION:The master station 1 varies the bit delay quantity control value in order by a bit delay quantity generation part 13 and the burst position changing part 23 of a slave station changes the transmission position of a pattern for initial adjustment and places a switch 22 at a side (a) to generate an error in the burst of another slave station 2 which is already in communication operation. The position of the generated error is detected by an error position detecting circuit 11, the distance between the slave station 2 and master station 1 is calculated from the correlation with the bit delay quantity control value sent to the slave station 2, and a bit delay quantity calculation part 15 calculates the bit delay quantity value with which the slave station 2 in initial adjustment can sends the signal sequence to its original correct burst position. Then a multiplexing part 14 multiplexes the bit delay quantity value on a main signal line as a control value.
