PURPOSE:To shorten a working time by forming a curved face bulging at the center on at least one part of the recessed groove face of a block or the abutting face of a pulley by compressing by a die the thickness direction of a V block after working its shape by punching. CONSTITUTION:The V block 1' subjected to a punching is compressed in the thickness direction by arranging it between an upper die 4 and lower die 5 at the interval to the extent of not bringing into contact with each other. The surfaces of the upper die and lower die 4, 5 coming into contact with the stock 1' are taken of the material having a high friction coefft. or in the shape providing a small uneven face. In the case, therefore, of the stock 1' being subjected to a compression deformation by receiving a compression in the thickness direction between the upper and lower dies 4, 5, the elongation of upper and lower contact faces is extremely restrained, intending to extend in the direction at right angles with the thickness direction and a center bulging curved face is formed in the thickness direction. By doing like this, the working time is drastically shortened and at the same time a center bulging curved face can be formed n the abutting face on the pulley effecting a big influence on the durability of the V block as well.
