PURPOSE:To improve the cooling efficiency of a piston in a simple structure, by furnishing a cooling groove at the outer periphery of the piston at the side of the bottom dead center direction from a top ring, and linking a scavenging passage to the other scavenging passage through the cooling groove. CONSTITUTION:A cooling groove 34 is formed at the outer periphery at the bottom dead center side from a top ring 30 of a piston 10. And through this cooling groove 34, a scavenging passage 18 of one side is linked to an exhausting passage 20. As a result, the piston can be cooled efficiently.
