PURPOSE:To reduce the weight and rolling resistance of a tyre, by a method wherein a tyre substrate is formed by a high molecular material, and two kinds of reinforcing layers, the directions of the cords of which are different from each other, are formed on a tread ring engaged with the outer peripheral surface of the tyre substrate. CONSTITUTION:A pneumatic tyre 1 is formed with a tyre substrate 2, formed by cast-molding a high molecular material, and a tread ring 4, engaged with an outer peripheral surface 3 of the tyre substrate. In this case, the tyre substrate 2 is formed with a pair of semi-annular members 19 and 20, each of which is divided into two parts in the vicinity of an equator surface C of the tyre. Meanwhile, the tread ring 4 is formed with an inner surface 5, engaged with an outer peripheral surface 3 of the tyre substrate 2, and an outer surface 6 forming a tread surface. First and second reinforcing layers 7 and 9 are formed in the vicinity of the inner surface 5 of the tread ring 4. A cord 10 is annually disposed axially of the tread ring 4 to the first reinforcing layer 7, and a cord 11 is disposed to the second reinforcing layer 9 in a direction in which it crosses the cord 10.
