A support plate (2) is attached to an object (1) whose acceleration is to be measured. The substrate is deformed elastically under the effect of the acceleration. A thin resistance element (3) is applied to the substrate in order to detect deformation. - The element forms a part of a bridge circuit which is linked to the inputs of a differential amplifier. The amplifier thus provides an output dependent on the variation of resistance. A small mass (M1) may be attached to the free end of the substrate in order to increase its deformation under a given acceleration.
