Conventional transport means have the disadvantage of being restricted to use on earth or requiring large amounts of fuel with appropriate fuel containers. Platforms which are supported by magnetic fields using the high current densities which can be realised in individual conductors and the high field strengths which can thus be realised with superconductors can, in contrast, be used, with suitable position regulation and power supply from partially shielded, field-producing, alignable coils with a small degree of energy expenditure in a freely movable manner in spaces filled with magnetic fields, are not restricted to use on earth and can be used outside the atmosphere.
