PURPOSE:To monitor the breeding of plural cells automatically in real time by composing a breeding speed monitoring device of plural measurement parts consisting of heat generation body and temperature detecting elements and culture cells connected to the measurement parts correspondingly in a good heat conduction state. CONSTITUTION:When the sensibility of a drug is tested, a specific cell is put in a culture cell 5 by a constant amount at each time, no cell is put in one culture cell as a contrast cell, and a culture solution is put in those cells by a constant amount. Then plural drugs to be tested are supplied to the cells while varying in concentration. Then a culture cell substrate 3 is placed on a measurement substrate 4. As the number of cells increases with time, the viscosity of the culture solution increases and the heat conductivity decreases from the heat generation bodies, so heating values required to hold the temperatures of the heat generating bodies and temperature detecting elements constant decreases with time. The decrement of the heating value is led out as a signal by finding the difference in heating value from the cell which contains no cell, and this signal is supplied to and processed by a computer 11 to perform data processing under previously given decision conditions, thereby displaying the increase in the number of cells.
