<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the number of components, the number of working steps, the size and the cost and to improve the reliability of an optical article detector by placing photodetector and light emitting element chips in the same frame, electrically connecting by fine metal wirings the frame to the chips, and forming an electric circuit of the frame itself. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting element chip 10 and a photodetector chip 11 are placed in the same frame 9, and the chips 10, 11 are electrically connected by fine metal wirings 12 to the frame 9. The chips 10, 11 are sealed with resin 13, an electric circuit is formed of the frame 9, and a connector 15 for inputting and outputting an electric signal is connected thereto. For example, the chips 10, 11 are secured to the die pads 7, 8 of the frame 9, connected by fine metal wirings 12 to the frame 9, the peripheries of the chips 10, 11 are sealed with the resin 13, and the excessive region of the frame 9 is cut. The chips 10, 11 are so bent as to oppositely face each other, contained in a case 14, and the frame 9 is connected to the connector 15.</p> |
