<p>PURPOSE:To reduce capacity of charging resistor, by throwing a parallel circuit of a shortcircuit switch and the charging resistor only into one converter in a plurality of converters. CONSTITUTION:Upon throw-in of an A.C. circuit breaker 3, a ternary load 11 is driven. At the time point when the A.C. circuit breaker 3 is thrown in, shortcircuit switches 7, 8 are opened, and D.C. power converted through a converter 12 flows through a charging resistor 6 to a capacitor 14. Upon finish of charging of the capacitor 14, the shortcircuit switches 7, 8 close to feed D.C. power from converters 12, 13 to an inverter 15. Consequently, only such current capacity as corresponding to single converter is required for the charging resistor 6, and thereby the weight of power source unit for A.C. electric car can be reduced.</p> |
