PURPOSE:To improve a magenta color image, and to make the gradation of said image to high contrast, by incorporating and dispersing a specified magenta coupler in combination with a specified ester oligomer in at least one layer of emulsion layers. CONSTITUTION:The magenta coupler shown by formula I is incorporated and dispersed in combination with the ester oligomer shown by formula II or III in at least one layer of silver halide emulsion layers. In formula I, Z is an atomic group capable of forming a heterocyclic ring contg. nitrogen atom, X is hydrogen atom or a group capable of releasing by allowing reaction with the oxidant of a color developing main agent, R is hydrogen atom or a substituent. In formulas II and III, R<1> and R<4> are each alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or a heterocyclic ring group, R<2>, R<3>, R<6> and R<7> are each alkylene, alkenylene or cycloalkylene group, R<5> and R<6> are each acyl or phosphonyl group, (n) is 1-20. Accordingly, the reproducibility of the magenta color image is improved, and the gradation of said image is made to the high contrast, and the color fastness to light of the color image is improved. |
