PURPOSE:To reduce the production cost and improve the sealing performance in the oil seal device provided with a seal lip with a spring mounted on the outer periphery side thereof by covering the surface of the spring with a coating comprising the same material as the seal lip. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a coil spring 6 is covered with a coating comprising the same material as a seal lip 4. This eliminates a process for applying an adhesive on the surface of the spring 6 and also a process for vulcanizing the spring 6 so that the accuracy of the spring 6 is not needed resulting in the remarkable reduction in the production cost. In addition, since the surface of the spring 6 is covered with the same material as the seal lip 4, the bonding force is made higher so that the spring 6 is prevented from falling. Thus, it is possible to obtain the oil seal device of high quality.
