PURPOSE:To obtain the titled foamed article having antibacterial property, keeping the antibacterial effect over a long period and having excellent moldability, by compounding a foamable polymer with an antibacterial zeolite, a foaming agent and a nucleation agent and foaming the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A foamable polymer (e.g. styrene polymer or polyethylene) is mixed with 0.1-5wt.% of an antibacterial zeolite and (B) 0.1-5wt.% of a nucleation agent (e.g. antibacterial zeolite, talc or calcium carbonate) based on the whole weight of said foamable polymer. The mixture is melted with heat, added with (C) 5-15wt.% of a foaming agent (e.g. flon 12, butane or propane) and subjected to expansion extrusion molding at a temperature (100-250 deg.C) higher than the softening point of the foamable resin. |
