The present invention relates to a safety device for making saucepans adhere to cooking appliances. This device is characterised by the use of electromagnets making it possible to prevent saucepans from tipping over. These electromagnets may be distributed around the burner in numbers of at least three thus making it possible to use them instead of the pan support. They may be commanded by a switch so as to be able to withdraw the saucepan easily when required. <IMAGE>
