The invention relates to an installation for maintaining a fire hose 1, which installation comprises a chamber 2 and a draw carriage 11 which is located in the chamber. At least one connector 27, to which the fire hose can be connected by means of its connector 10 for the purpose of drawing the hose straight in the chamber, is attached to the carriage. The installation additionally possesses a hydrostatic test device 30, for example a high-pressure water pump for producing a pressure of the desired magnitude in the fire hose, and at least one fan for blowing a stream of dry air through the draw carriage into the hose. According to the invention, the draw carriage 11 is designed both as a device for feeding the stream of dry air which is blown from the fan into the fire hose 1 and as an air valve 29 in the hydrostatic test device 30 which, in the hydrostatic test phase, allows the air to escape from inside the hose, and is closed when the hose has been filled with pressure medium such as water. <IMAGE>
