The invention concerns a clip for attaching together several sheets of paper or thin lightweight material both at the upper edge of the sheet and the lateral edge, preferably the left edge, to form, in the latter case, a binding. The clip consists of a wire of mild steel or other metal or of rigid plastic shaped to form a grip with two open curved legs (4, 5, 6) of unequal length lying in the same vertical plane. The legs are interconnected by a bent part protruding from the vertical element of the legs. The components (2, 3) of the legs are spaced a slight distance apart at the level of the bend (1) in a substantially horizontal plane and overlap and meet at the tip of the vertical grips.
