PURPOSE:To enhance the hydrophobicity of an oriented film so that a large- capacity display is executed by forming a fluorine polymer by a plasma polymn. treatment using fluorine monomers on a resin layer formed on a substrate and subjecting the layer to a rubbing treatment, thereby forming the oriented film. CONSTITUTION:A polyimide layer, polyamide layer or polyamic acid layer is formed on the substrate. The fluorine polymer is formed thereon by the plasma polymn. treatment using the fluorine monomers and is subjected to the rubbing treatment. The polyimide layer, polyamide layer or polyamic acid layer formed on the substrate is otherwise subjected to the rubbing treatment and the fluorine polymer is formed thereon by the plasma polymn. treatment using the fluorine monomers. The oriented film of the liquid crystal display device is formed in such a manner, by which the hydrophobicity of the oriented film is enhanced and the large-capacity display is satisfactorily executed. |
