PURPOSE:To reduce pre-dose, to expand a measurement lower limit, and to improve accuracy by using recrystallized alanine. CONSTITUTION:The recrystallized alanine is obtained by dissolving alanine in water and then dripping the solution on an organic solvent such as methanol and crystallizing and depositing the alanine or vaporizing the water and crystallizing and depositing the alanine. This is molded in a specific shape with a binder which is small in radical production amount by the radiation of synthetic rubber such as an ethylene propylene copolymer synthetic resin such as paraffin, and natural rubber, etc., or powder of the recrystallized alanine is put in a container of glass, etc., as it is to obtain the radiation dosimeter element. An ESR device finds produced radical concentration per unit weight to find radiation dosage. Consequently, the number of radicals present in the crystal before exposure can be decreased, the measurement lower limit is expanded, and the measurement accuracy is improved.
