Decorative panel engraving system - involves marking design through layer of paint on back of transparent panel and filling grooves with paint of other colours

The decorative panel engraving system consists of first applying a protective layer (2) of film to the front surface of a transparent panel (1). Next, alayer of paint (3) is applied to the rear face of the panel, and when this has dried the design is engraved through the paint and into the material of the panel. The grooves left by the engraving tool are then also painted from the back of the panel, using colours suitable for the engraved design. Finally, the protective film layer is removed from the front surface of the panel, allowing the design to be viewed through the glass, which gives an effect of a relief picture in relation to the painted background.
