PURPOSE:To obtain a heat- and pressure-sensitive recording material which is enhanced in color forming speed in an initial pressurization and capable of easily conducting a pressure-sensitive copying, by incorporating a solvent dissolving at least one of a leuco dye and a color developer and the color developer in a microcapsule. CONSTITUTION:In a recording material, a thermal recording layer 2 mainly composed of a leuco dye and a color developer is provided on the surface of a substrate 1. In a high-speed printing, the leuco dye reacts with the color developer to produce a color by being heated by a thermal head 4 and a thermal recording is carried out. On the reverse of the sheet 1, a layer 3 is formed, which contains a microcapsule including a solvent dissolving at least one of the leuco dye and the color developer and the color developer. This microcapsule is prepared so as not to break due to heat but to easily break under the pressure of a pen. In this manner, the dye or color developer is dissolved by the solvent to generate a color reaction in the thermal recording layer, which increases a color forming speed in an initial pressurization. |
