<p>PURPOSE:To surely protect a device to be protected by housing a zinc oxide arrestor in the supporting insulator under a pantograph and by sufficiently absorbing highly frequent external lightnings that penetrate from a pantograph. CONSTITUTION:The inside of an insulator body 3 is made hollow, and a zinc oxide element 5 is housed in the internal space of the body 3 through a spring 4 to form a zinc oxide arrestor 6 in the supporting insulator. A variety of stringent duties such as opening and closing surges of high frequency produced by highly frequent external lightning or directly hit external lightnings, line disconnection of a pantograph, and mounting and removing, are absorbed, so highly frequent surges are suppressed. Accordingly, a device to be protected such as a main motor 10 in a circuit for DC cars or a transformer in a circuit for AC car, is protected without fail.</p> |
