1. A real-time payment device method of providing a gratuity to a potential tip recipient, the method comprising:
determining a location of the payment device with a processor; querying a user, via a display, on whether the potential tip recipient works at an establishment, resulting in an establishment status; transmitting, via a wireless antenna, to an application server the location of the payment device and the establishment status of the potential tip recipient; receiving, a list of the potential tip recipients from the application server with the wireless antenna; presenting the list of the potential tip recipients with the display; transmitting a selected tip recipient to the application server with the wireless antenna.
