The invention relates to a stud for the tyre of a vehicle, which stud comprises a rivet 11 provided with a hard prong part 12, a collar 14 having been disposed within the region of the head 13 to ensure that the stud 10 is held in the tyre. The annular collar 14, which acts as a holding collar, is configured as a piece separate from the rivet 11 and is arranged on top of the rivet 11 in such a way that the collar 14 corresponds to the lower surface 17 of the rivet head 13. The shank part 15 of the rivet of the stud has a straight and even configuration and the collar 14 supports only the lower surface 17 of the rivet head. <IMAGE>
