A vertical conveyor comprises a continuous conveyor belt 6 of elastic material. This belt has a plane base section 18 and two relatively flexible, plane side sections 19, 20 whose combined width is greater than the width of the base section. The conveyor also has an essentialy vertical frame 3, in which rolls 23-26 for guiding the belt are mounted. The base and the side sections 18-20 are rigid relative to the longitudinal axis of the belt 6, disc to transverse stiffening, and are connected by two flexible parts 21, 22. Such is their flexibility that each side section 19, 20 can be bent towards the side of the base section 18 in contact with the goods. The rolls 23, 24 for guiding the belt 6 along its goods-conveying course comprise several sets of rolls distributed along its way, each of which comprises a first roll 23 and a second roll 24. The first roll 23 bears against the side of the base section 18 not in contact with the goods, and the second roll 24 pushes the side sections 19, 20 with overlap towards the goods-contact side of the base section, so that the base section 18, the two flexible parts 21, 22 and the overlapping side sections 19, 20 form a goods 31 enclosure channel. <IMAGE> |
