PURPOSE:To enhance a recording quality by a recording head drive method wherein, a drive time of a recording head is determined in synchronism with a detected scanning speed, and a correction drive time of the recording head is determined on the basis of recording data. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 101 measures a cycle of a pulse signal 17 from a rotation detection part 108 by a timer 109 and detects a manually scanning speed of a hand printer 100. The CPU 101 determines a conduction time to a recording head 106 on the basis of this scanning speed while referring to a table 112 and sets the time value to a timer 110. Simultaneously with the start of counting by the timer 110, a heat signal 15 is turned ON, and the recording head 106 is electrically driven on the basis of the counting by the timer 110. On the other hand, the CPU 101 determines a correction drive time of the recording head 106 on the basis of printing data to be outputted to the recording head and functions so as to electrically drive the same. Therefore, a constant recording quality can be kept even with the fluctuation of scanning speed. In addition, a density correction can be carried out in a part having the possibility of density reduction. |
