PURPOSE:To make a cell compact and to increase capacity without use of special clamps by melt-bonding facing cell frames made of thermoplastic resin, and melt-bonding stacked cells. CONSTITUTION:A set of facing cell frames 1, 2 made of thermoplastic resin are heat-bonded. An electrolyte supply pipe 8 and its exhaust pipe 9 are installed in the cell frame 1 and an electrolyte supply pipe 10 and its exhaust pipe 11 are installed in the cell frame 2. An ion exchange membrane 3 is heat-bonded between the cell frames 1, 2, and electrodes 4, 5 are arranged in the cell frames 1, 2 respectively. A cell structure is formed with the cell frames 1, 2, the ion exchange membrane 3, and the electrodes 4, 5, and many cell structures are stacked with electrolyte separators 6, 7. A cell having compact size, large capacity, and low cost is obtained without use of clamps. |
