Solar collector panel comprising an accumulator body constituting at least part of the collector of the solar collector panel or arranged in a heat-exchange relationship with such a collector. The accumulator material has a softening temperature lying above 100C, in an exemplary embodiment 130C, and the body is surrounded on both sides thereof by a highly insulating material which is transparent to the majority of the light energy and moreover reflects infrared radiation at the temperature levels which are utilized in the accumulator. In an embodiment, the insulating material consists of evacuated silica aerogel with a coefficient of thermal conductivity of roughly 0.008 W/mC and with said light- transmitting and infrared-reflecting properties up to a temperature level of roughly 220C. <IMAGE> |
