PURPOSE:To perform measurement at a high response speed with good sensitivity, by providing a polymerized film of an aqueous monomer solution having enzyme immobilized thereon to the surface of a conductor layer. CONSTITUTION:A control electrode 1', a reference electrode 2' and an operating electrode 3', all of which are respectively composed of ion responsive conductor electrodes 2a-2c, are provided on an alumina substrate 1. The electrode 1' is coated with a polypyrrole film 5 containing no enzyme and the electrode 3' is coated with an enzyme immobilized film 6. Then, the difference V1-V2 between the potential V1 of the electrode 1' to the reference electrode 2' and the potential V2 of the electrode 3' is measured as output. By this method, a response speed is calculated from the glucose concn. to the potential difference to make it possible to perform measurement at a high response speed with good sensitivity. |
