A surrounding member (30) has a through-hole (50) extending through a cover section (30a). The cover section (30a) has a closing section (56, 58) which closes the opening (7b) of an outlet passage (7) from the space outside the surrounding member (30) when subjected to contact with a wall section (32). A closing section (59) is provided so as to surround an opening of the through-hole (50), and the through-hole (50) is in communication with the outlet passage (7) even when the closing section (59) is in contact with the wall section (32). A spring (31) presses the surrounding member (30) outside a back-pressure chamber. The surrounding member (30) opens and closes, by itself, the connection between the back-pressure chamber and the outside space, and as a result, the consumption of a high-pressure fuel can be reduced and an injection hole can be opened and closed by a needle. Such operation of the surrounding member (30) can be achieved even by mounting the spring (31) outside the back-pressure chamber (6). Consequently, mounting the spring (31) outside the back-pressure chamber (6) can reduce the volume of the back-pressure chamber (6) and can suppress rocking. |
