PURPOSE:To freely contract and deform a lens in a eye at a constant temperature (for example, at 35 deg.C or below) and to use the lens in a condition enlarge- restored to a necessary shape with a body temperature by using a shape-memory plastic as the material of the optical part and/or supporting part of the lens in the eye. CONSTITUTION:The title lens has the supporting part made of the shape-memory plastic, the supporting part length is contract-deformed before it is inserted into the eye, and it is restored to the necessary shape by the body temperature after the insertion. When only the supporting part is made of the shape-memory plastic, the overall length of the lens can be contracted by folding the supporting part 1. When the shape-memory plastic is used as to only an optical part 2 in omitting the supporting part, the whole of the lens can be contracted in coiling it in a bar shape or a cigar shape or folding it in an accordion shape or a wave shape. |
