<p>PURPOSE: To improve the backward visibility in an optical transformation system such as a backward recognizing mirror for automobile by forming a mirror into a curved surface over the whole surface thereof so that the curvature radius is changed from the maximum value to the minimum value and specifying a variable width of the curvature radius. CONSTITUTION: In a backward recognizing mirror for automobile, a mirror surface 40 is formed of matrix type small mirrors (having a side at about 0.01 inch) 42 partitioned by boundaries crossing horizontal lines 46 and vertical lines 44 crossing each other. The small mirrors 42 are expressed with a formula showing various shape such as a spherical surface, a hyperboloid and a paraboloid, and provided with a surface such as a spherical surface to be changed in the horizontal direction in response to a specified formula, and formed so as to be a little changed in the horizontal direction on the basis of other function of an ellipse, a hyperboloid and a paraboloid. Width of change of the curvature radius of the small mirrors 42 to be changed in order is set so that a driven can hold an appearance coherency of an image reflected on the mirror with both eyes.</p> |
