PRODUCTION OF COLOR FILTER

PURPOSE:To obtain sharp images with decreased unequal colors by executing the inclusion of a stage to provide a leveling layer to the outside peripheral part of the filter elements of a lower layer >=1 times during the entire forming stage at the time of forming the other color filter layer on the color filter layer formed on the lower layer. CONSTITUTION:A casein- ammonium bicarbonate photosensitive liquid is coated on a glass substrate 11 and is subjected to mask exposing and developing then to cyan dyeing to form the color filter layer consisting of the cyan colored picture elements of a 1st color. The filter layer is then subjected to a fixing treatment by using a tannic acid soln. and thereafter, the same photosensitive liquid is used and is coated thereon at the average film thickness of the cyan picture element-glass substrate part. The outside peripheral part of the filter elements 12 is subjected to mask exposing and developing to form the leveling layer 14. The leveling layer 14 is subjected to the fixing treatment by a tannic acid soln. and the color filter layers of the 2nd and 3rd colors are formed by the similar process. A protective layer is provided on the uppermost layer to form the mosaic color filters. The sharp images having the decreased unequal colors are thereby obtd.
