PURPOSE:To perform printing recording by an image signal of a reduced quantity of a current by heating an ink recording medium to temp. equal to or less than the m.p. of a heat-meltable ink layer by the heating means provided in the vicinity of a printing part before applying a signal current. CONSTITUTION:An ink recording medium 1 is fed to a printing part by a drive means but brought into contact with the contact heating rolls 5, 6 arranged on this side of the printing part to be preheated to temp. equal to or less than the m.p. of a heat-meltable ink layer 15 to be fed to the printing part. In the printing part, an image signal is inputted to the surface of the anisotropic conductive layer 11 of the ink recording medium 1 from a printing recording head 2 in a sliding state. A signal current flows to a conductive layer 13 from the anisotropic conductive layer 11 through a heat generating resistor layer 12 to be earthed through a return electrode circuit. At this time, electricity/energy conversion is performed in the heat generating resistor layer 12 and the generated heat energy is propagated to the heat-meltable ink layer 15 through the conductive layer 13 and the ink release layer 14 and heat-meltable ink is melted corresponding to the input signal to be transferred to recording paper 3. |
