EXAMPLE:p-Nitrobenzyl 6beta- phenylacetamido-2-(p-hydroxymethylphenyl)-2-carbo- xypenam-3alpha-carboxylate. USE:An antibacterial agent against Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria, stable to a beta-lactamase and effective against resistant bacteria. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III to form a compound expressed by formula IV, which is then reacted with a compound expressed by the formula R<4a>CHO and the product is subjected to halogenation, etc., to form a compound expressed by formula V, followed by cyclization and deprotection. |
