PURPOSE:To have flat and smooth finishing by forming a circumferential groove in the center of a pressure surface at the bore of a resilient shoe, thereby equalizing the its slip speed with journal at the time of processing in the center of the journal and at both ends, and accomplishing uniform lapping of a work without middle concave. CONSTITUTION:A groove 10 is furnished in the middle of a left and a right resilient shoe 3, which make lapping of a journal (work) 4 by pressing a sand paper 7 thereto. When the shoes 3 are oscillated to perform lapping, their slip speeds with the journal 4 in the center and at both ends are made even. This accomplishes uniform lapping of journal 4, wherein middle concave is precluded. In the previous process, therefore, in which the journal 4 is ground by a grinder element, the journal 4 surface may be merely ground flat and smooth, that facilitates management of grinder elements to a great extent. |
