Apparatus for producing plastics bags having carrying strips includes a base frame (1), a work bench (10), and a frame (2) with a pair of hydraulic upper punch moulds (6, Fig 2). On work bench (10) are vertical poles (14) and horizontal slide tracks (18) and rods (15 and 16). On each slide track (18) is a slide member (4) of a feed device, which are pulled along the tracks by chains and a motor (25). The feed device has clamps (43) to pick up plastics bags which are delivered under the punch mould for punching the same in co-operation with a sharp lower mould (55, Fig 2) to cut the same into plastics bags with carrying strips.
