The air conditioner uses a surplus heat capacity as an auxilliary power source using heat storage material, so that the room heating efficiency can be advanced. The air conditioner comprises an overcooling heat exchanger (4) having a plurality of fins for exchanging heat, a heat-storage heat exchanger (4') separated from the overcooling heat exchanger, a heat storage device (7) filled with heat storage material and installed in an in-house unit. The heat storage device is connected to the inhouse heat exchangers with valves (8,8a,8b), a three way valve (10) and an expansion valve (11). The outdoor heat exchanger is connected to a compressor with a valve (8c), an expansion valve (11a), and a four way valve (15).
