PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic fluid having excellent and stabilized characteristics by a method wherein magnetic grains of modulation structure formed by spinodal decomposition is contained in the structure of the magnetic phase and the non-magnetic phase which are separated from each other. CONSTITUTION:A structure consisting of a magnetic phase and a non-magnetic phase which are separated from each other, this structure contains magnetic grains having modulation structure formed by spinodal decomposition. At this time, the ratio of the magnetic phase and the non-magnetic phase can be controlled arbitrarily within the range of 10 to 90%. The saturation magnetization and the coercive force of the magnetic grains can be controlled optionally by changing the mode of said magnetic phase and the non-magnetic phase or their ratio. As a result, a stabilized magnetic fluid having excellent characteristics can be obtained without using ultrafine particles. |
