PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-component developer, and others, having excellent transfer property without being influenced by a toner consumption history of the latest image for a long period of time, and having excellent durability with little decrease in chargeability due to toner spent and little changes in a carrier resistance for a long period of time.SOLUTION: The two-component developer comprises: a toner consisting of toner base particles comprising a colorant, a release agent and a binder resin, and an external additive; and a carrier. The carrier includes a core material and a coating layer covering the core material; the carrier has an arithmetic average surface roughness Ra1 of 0.50 μm to 0.90 μm; the coating layer comprises a binder resin and fine particles; and the coating layer has an average layer thickness difference of 0.02 μm to 3.0 μm. The external additive includes at least coalesced particles; the coalesced particles are aspheric secondary particles produced by coalescing primary particles; and a particle size distribution index of the coalesced particles satisfies Db/Db≤1.20. |
