PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation input device for improving the detection accuracy of a gesture by suppressing the influence of disturbance, and to provide an operation input method and a program.SOLUTION: The operation input device includes infrared irradiation means for irradiating an infrared ray, imaging means for imaging an image from the infrared ray, image processing means for detecting the shape of an indication object from the imaged image, infrared control means for adjusting the irradiation intensity of the infrared ray, storage means for respectively storing first luminance of a first area where the infrared ray is irradiated in the imaged image in the case that the irradiation intensity is adjusted, and second luminance of each of a plurality of second areas, luminance operation means for calculating third luminance of each of the second areas, and calculating a luminance correction value to correct the first luminance in the case that the absolute value of difference between the third luminance and the second luminance, which corresponds to at least one of the second areas is equal to or more than a predetermined value, determination means for determining operation contents by the indication object from the shape, and instruction means for making an operation object device execute a function corresponding to the operation contents. |
