PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of an electric power source and reduce Joule's loss by a method wherein two pieces of opposing metal rails are divided into two parts and first stage rails are connected in series to an inductor while a second stage rails are connected in parallel to the inductor. CONSTITUTION:Rails are divided into first stage rails 8 and second stage rails 9 and an inductor 5 is connected in series to the first stage rails while the inductor 5 is connected to the second stage rails in parallel thereto. When an ignitron 2 is put ON, a projectile 6 enters into the second stage rails 9 simultaneously with the projection of the same from the first stage rails 8 whereby a closed circuit is constituted in this case by the rails 9, the inductor 5 and the projectile 6 and, therefore, a current, conducted through the inductor 5, flows through the rails 9. In this case, the projectile itself serves both for an intercepting switch and a communicating switch whereby the device may be simplified and reliability may be improved. On the other hand, the circuit is connected to the second stage rails when the current becomes maximum and, therefore, Joule's loss can be reduced. |
