PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reliably preventing a scratch around the edge of a fixing member without consuming unnecessary recording sheets.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a fixing roller 200 that fixes a toner image on a recording sheet; a pressure roller 210 that comes into pressure contact with an outer peripheral surface of the fixing roller 200 to form a fixing nip part NP with the fixing roller 200; polishing members 280a and 280b that each have a length shorter than that of the recording sheet in a direction orthogonal to a conveyance direction of the recording sheet passing through the fixing nip part NP, and polish a position on the outer peripheral surface of the fixing roller 200 with which an edge part of the recording sheet comes into contact; and pressing rollers 270a and 270b that each press the polishing members 280a and 280b respectively against the outer peripheral surface of the fixing roller 200. |
