Machine for binding together intersecting by means of wires bent to form bows 13, especially for binding reinforcement bars. The machine comprises members 12 for placing the wire bows over the intersection points of the bars from one end thereof, and members 5, 6 for gripping and twisting together the legs of the wire bows on the other side of the bars. The members for placing the wire bows 13 over the intersection points of the bars comprise a head 12 by means of which a wire bow can be secured and introduced over an intersection point between two bars 19, 20 in a plane essentially parallel to the plane of the bars. The head 12 can be pivoted in such a way that the wire bow 13 can thereafter be turned about 90 degree in order to cause its legs to project essentially at right angles from the plane of the bars. The members 5, 6 for gripping and twisting together the legs of the wire bows are arranged such that, when the wire bow is turned, the said legs are introduced between rotatable members 5, 6 included in the last-mentioned members.
