PURPOSE:To obtain a flexible synthetic leather having excellent moisture permeability and similar to natural leather by forming a polyurethane resin layer containing a water-soluble natural polymeric substance on a surface of a substrate and immersing the substrate in water containing a penetrant, thereby removing said polymer and forming a porous skin layer. CONSTITUTION:A drapeable synthetic leather having excellent moisture permeability and gas permeability can be produced e.g. by forming a polyurethane resin layer 5 containing a water-soluble natural polymeric substance 2 (e.g. starch or glue) on a creped face of a creped mold-releasing paper 1, laminating a substrate 6 made of nylon, polyester, etc., peeling the mold-releasing paper and immersing the laminate in water added with a penetrant to dissolve and remove the water-soluble natural polymeric substance and obtain the objective drapeable synthetic leather having excellent moisture permeability and gas permeability. The flexibility can be further improved by forming a microporous polyurethane layer 10 between the surface skin layer and the substrate by a wet-process. |
