<p>PURPOSE:To monitor an optical output with a relatively simplified structure and without substantially losing an exit light by disposing an optical detector element in a reflecting path of the exit light from a light emitting diode, formed of a sealing window. CONSTITUTION:A current is injected into a light emitting device 1 through an electrode pin 4, and the light emitting device 1 performs electrooptic conversion. A resulting light is emanated through a sealing window 3 to the outside of a package. On the contrary, the emanating light is partly reflected on the sealing window 3, and detected by an optical detector element 5 and picked up through the electrode pin 3 as an optical output monitoring current. Hereby, an optical output can be monitored with a relatively simplified structure.</p> |
